Golf Course Superintendent

Shady Hollow Golf Course | Cub Run, Kentucky

 

Shady Hollow Golf Course is seeking an experienced and motivated Golf Course Superintendent to oversee all aspects of golf course grounds maintenance and lead the daily operations of the maintenance department. The Superintendent will be responsible for delivering exceptional playing conditions while managing staff, equipment, irrigation systems, budgets, and course improvement projects. Course has Bent grass greens, Bermuda tees and fairways.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all golf course maintenance operations, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and practice areas.
  • Develop and implement turfgrass management, fertility, pest control, and cultural maintenance programs.
  • Oversee operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the irrigation system.
  • Schedule, supervise, and support maintenance staff
  • Manage equipment maintenance, inventory, supplies, and facility assets.
  • Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, expenditures, and purchasing needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, pesticide, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with planning and execution of course improvement and capital projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

·         Minimum of three (3) years of golf course maintenance management experience.

·         Strong knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and golf course operations.

·         Experience leading and developing maintenance teams.

·         Ability to obtain and maintain applicable pesticide applicator certifications.

·         Valid driver's license.

Preferred

·         Degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field.

·         CGCS designation or progress toward certification.

·         Experience with course renovation, drainage, or capital improvement projects.

·         Experience with irrigation programming and troubleshooting.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Competitive salary 50-60 K based on qualifications and experience. Benefits package includes paid time off, and golf privileges.
