Indian Hills Country Club - Golf Course Maintenance Department
Position Overview
The Equipment Manager reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent or the Assistant
Superintendent and is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair program for all
golf course equipment and related assets.
The role ensures that all equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the
clubs standards. The Equipment Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the course
conditions by keeping machinery in optimal working order.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance and Repair
• Diagnose, inspect, and repair mechanical defects in a wide range of golf course maintenance
equipment
• Maintain and repair diesel, electric, and gas powered equipment including:
• Automobiles and trucks
• Tractor
• Roller
• Mowers
• Utility vehicles
• Other mechanical equipment used on the golf course
• Perform emergency repairs on golf course as needed
Shop and Safety Management
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service area
• Enforce safety procedures
• Regulate employee use of equipment
• Place safety as the top priority in all maintenance operations
Supervision and Communication
• Communicate equipment needs, repairs, tenant and operational issues to the Superintendent
or Assistant Superintendent
• Act in the absence of the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Employment Standards
Knowledge
• Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment
• Strong understanding of automotive and small engine repair
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems
Skills and Abilities
• Skill in using variety of diagnostic tools and repair equipment
• Ability to perform a wide range of mechanical repairs
• Ability to weld
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and supervise others
• Ability to lift, carry, or move heavy objects
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and humidity,
particularly when performing on course repairs
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize
multiple task
• Possession of a valid drivers license
